Our Programs
At Higher Society House of Commerce, our programs are designed to help people experiencing homelessness move from survival mode into safety, healing, stability, and independence.
We believe people need more than a temporary place to sleep. Many people also need support with addiction, mental health, trauma, hygiene, life skills, employment, healthy routines, and rebuilding confidence. Our programs are being created to provide structure, dignity, care, and practical support for people who are ready for a better path.
Safe Housing Support
Our tiny-home housing program is being designed to give individuals a safe, private, clean, and peaceful place to live. Having a secure space can help people rest, recover, and begin focusing on their future.
Each tiny home is part of a larger supportive community where residents can access programs, basic needs, and guidance while working toward stability.
Addiction and Recovery Support
Many people experiencing homelessness are also struggling with addiction or substance use. Our goal is to create a recovery-focused environment where people are supported, not judged.
We plan to connect residents with addiction recovery resources, counselling options, support groups, relapse-prevention tools, and healthy daily routines that help them move forward one step at a time.
Mental Health and Emotional Wellness
Homelessness can create or worsen depression, anxiety, trauma, stress, and hopelessness. Our programming will focus on helping residents feel safe, heard, respected, and supported.
We aim to provide access to mental health resources, wellness check-ins, peer support, counselling connections, and a community environment where people are treated with dignity.
Hygiene, Laundry, and Basic Needs
Cleanliness is a major part of dignity and health. Our facilities are being planned to include access to clean bathrooms, showers, laundry, hygiene supplies, clothing, meals, and daily essentials.
These basic needs should not be luxuries. They are important steps toward helping people regain confidence, self-respect, and stability.
Life Skills Training
Our life-skills program will help residents build practical habits for everyday living. This may include support with:
Cooking and meal preparation
Cleaning and personal hygiene
Laundry and home care
Healthy routines
Communication skills
Conflict resolution
Budgeting and planning
Goal setting
Time management
Problem solving
These skills help people become more confident and prepared for independent living.
Employment and Purpose Building
We want to help residents discover their strengths, rebuild confidence, and work toward meaningful goals. This may include resume support, job-readiness training, interview preparation, volunteer opportunities, employment connections, and mentorship.
The goal is not only to help people find work, but to help them feel useful, capable, and valued again.
Community and Mentorship
Higher Society House of Commerce is being built on the belief that people heal better in a supportive community. Residents need positive relationships, encouragement, accountability, and people who genuinely care.
We hope to involve mentors, volunteers, support workers, tradespeople, churches, businesses, and community partners who can help residents rebuild their lives.
Health and Wellness Connections
Our goal is to help residents connect with health-care providers, community agencies, addiction services, mental health supports, and other resources that can improve their well-being.
We want to help remove barriers so people can access the support they need instead of being left to figure everything out alone.
Safety, Respect, and Accountability
Our programs will be built around safety, cleanliness, respect, and accountability. We want residents to feel protected, supported, and treated like human beings.
The goal is to create an environment that is not careless, overcrowded, or unsafe, but organized, clean, peaceful, and focused on helping people move forward.
